Beautiful Metal Stair Treads

Metal stair treads are the horizontal sections of stairs that serve as the step surface of each step. These treads are installed on the top of each step, providing a decorative finish to the staircase. When installing stair treads, you have many factors to consider, including the depth and length of the ladder and the posts that support the stair railing. When installing rungs on metal tread, you may have to finish the treads if they have exposed ends.
Measure the distance from the wall to the far side of the stand, or between the outer edges of the posts on both sides of the stairs. Cut the rungs of the metal stair to this width. Cut a piece of molding rounded down to the same width as the metal stair treads. Keep the molding up to the front edge of the step and measure the space between the back of the step and the back edge of the molding. Trim the footprint of the ladder lengthwise to fit into the space at the back of the step for molding.
Measure the spaces between the stair poles, as well as the width of the posts. Recreate these measurements at the end of the stairs. Cut the holes for the posts with a jigsaw. Place the footprint of the metal stair treads on the step so that it fits on the back of the ladder with the posts in the holes created by them. Use the adhesive or nails recommended by the tread manufacturer to secure the tread in place.
